Ingredients of Lemon Mandazi
- It's 2 kg of self raising flour.
- It's 1 glass of milk.
- You need 4 glasses of hot water.
- It's 250 gms of sugar.
- It's 1 tbs of salt.
- It's 1 tbs of lemon peels grated.
- You need 5 tbs of cooking oil.
Lemon Mandazi step by step
- In a bowl, put the sugar, grated lemon peels, salt, milk and the water then stir till the sugar and salt are dissolved..
- Take your all-purpose flour and pour it into the mixture. Knead it till it forms a soft hard dough then spread your cooking oil all over it and continue kneeding till it's shinny and not sticky..
- Cover it and let it rest for about 30mins..
- After letting it rest divide the dough into portions..
- Start rolling out the round portions into a circle then divide it into four equal portions..
- Start putting the divided portions into moderate hot oil in a pan and make sure both sides get to a golden brown colour..
- When ready remove from the oil with a spider spoon..
- Place into a rack ready for service..
